I guess it’s time I made an actual update, instead of just posting a little meme. Though I am not sure what to post about. This past week has been pretty boring.
I did go shooting with Earl yesterday, and shot the civilian version of the G36. That’s really been about it though, what can I say?
The regional guy at work is finally gone for a couple months. He left Christmas week and won’t be back until sometime in February, I guess. That’s nice… don’t have to contend with him looking down his nose at me.
Letsee… The managers left today to go to a couple gun shows. I still think they should have taken me along. Aaaaaaand… I guess that’s it.
Jeez, I am dull.

I forgot to mention this morning that last night, I finally felt Kyle’s pain. I had a bad dream that involved a gun. No, not like that. It wasn’t me shooting someone.
Anyway, I was standing with someone and a dog or something started running at us. Whatever it was, it was meaning us harm. So, I pulled out my pistol and fired. Nothing… It had jammed. So I ejected the round and fired again… Nothing. Again… Nothing.
Those are great dreams.

Here I am at 11:00, still waiting to go to work. I am not scheduled to go in until noon. I swear they like to waste half of my day, just because they can. I guess I could have gone and gotten a haircut this morning, but I didn’t think about that until just now. It’s just crazy going in so late though. I think I would much rather work open to close a little more and have an extra day off. That would be kickin’ rad.
But no– Here I sit, twiddling my thumbs and thinking about random stuff. I start thinking about the movie script, then randomly wonder how Rachel is doing out in Jackson Hole, then about Sage, back to the script, then about lunch. Will the torture never end? Ah well…
So, my gun permit should be here today. Of course, I fully expect the lady at the probate court really didn’t know what she was talking about. She was a nice bubbly lady, and told me it would be here within 10 days. That might normally be true, however we have several holidays hitting here this week. There’s no telling when it will get here.
This is crazy. I am about to go out of my mind with boredom. I need something… Anything!! None of my regular haunts on the internet have anything new. Mugglenet, Theonering, Daireem, Diablofans… Nothing. It’s a conspiracy, they want me to go mad as well. I knew it.
Anyway, I guess I will go find something for lunch and meander to work a little early.
Talk atcha later, homeslices.

Okay, so I didn’t make it back after that last post to tell you what I did that evening. Or several of the days after that, for that matter. So, I guess I should finally fill you in on the proceeding days after my last post.
So for starters, that night the Blizzard’s joined me for a dance out by Rachel Leslie’s house, that she was hosting. They even danced a little bit. They both did really good, actually. Clint a little better than Kyle, but I don’t think Kyle was trying as hard as Clint was. ![]()
So, I danced for about three and half hours. Learned several new dances that I can’t remember. Including, but not limited to: the foxtrot, the waltz, the cha-cha, the tango, and a few new moves for the swing. I do have to say that swing is still my favorite for the moment, but the waltz could easily knock it to second. There is something that just looks and feels impressive about the waltz, even if you have no idea what you’re doing.
Rachel and I were the only ones out there dancing for about the last hour of the party. Everyone else was worn out, but we had a good time.
That was Saturday night. On Sunday night, the Blizzards and Rachel came over and we shot guns and hung out for about seven or eight hours. It was something like 11:30 when they all left, if I remember right. We shot a whole lot of rounds. I, of course, shot my new gun. The accuracy is questionable at the moment, but we’re working on it.
We got a few pictures, and quite a bit of footage of everyone shooting. So, I’ll see if I can post some of it at a later date.
The HK-91 knock off was the best part of it. It’s not supposed to be a sniper rifle, but it works as one. Kyle has a bipod and a scope on his. So, we were able to snipe some pumpkins… That was a blast. Literally.
I think that, and the little .22 handgun were the most fun to shoot. If we do that again any time soon, I think I might try to shoot my .40 with one hand. Probably not a good idea, but I think I can do it.
So, today I am at work until at least noon. Which it is unlikely that we’ll get out of here that quickly. It’s more likely to be 2:00, which we have permission to leave then if it’s really slow. 4:00 if it’s not. Which, it’s a little hard to say at the moment. It’s not really a good crowd coming in, but it’s not dead either. All I really have to say is, “Who the HECK comes in on Christmas eve to buy lumber?!”… The answer is, “Quite a few.”
Retards… buying lumber, so I can’t go home early… *Pout.*
And I said, I don’t care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I’m, I’m quitting, I’m going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they’ve moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn’t bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it’s not okay because if they take my stapler then I’ll set the building on fire…
Alright, Milton… I’ve got to go… Yeah, alright. Okay… See you now. Bye.
Edit: I was informed the HK-91 is not a “knock off” which implies negativity. It’s a clone, which is much better.

I have finally aquired my gun after several years of drooling. It took me quite some time to decide on which one to get. I was going back and forth on the Beretta Px4, and the XD by Springfield Armory. I looked at all types of guns, but by the end of the day I still was thinking those two were the best option.
So, then it was time for business. I found this one table that had the best prices in the show, from what I could tell. They were still a little high compared to stuff on the Internet. However, buying it from them got it to me faster. ![]()
Anyway, I stood at their table picking up the Px4, then the XD… Then to my wondrous eyes should appear, a shiny black gun with a nice veneer. Or something like that.
So, I picked up this other XD, known formally as the XD-M… Oooooooh yeeeeeeah, that’s what I’m talkin’ about. It pretty much fit my hand perfectly, when it came to mag release and all that jazz. The grip also wasn’t as intrusive as the Px4 was feeling. The Px4 had a little bit of what I like to call “the cheese grater”.
So, I debated for a while… Quite a while, actually. Went and wondered around for a bit more, price shopped here and there. Everyone else was upwards of 75-100 bucks more for the same XD-M. Sheesh.
After a while, I told the Blizzards that I was going back to the table. I still wasn’t quite sure about it… so, I went and they came a few minutes behind me. I talked to them for a couple minutes about the pros and cons of the XD, and it was then decided. I liked the safety features of the XD, better than the Px4…
Time to buy. It was the last one in stock that they had left, and I was now the proud owner. Just a simple background check (which the guy next to me did not pass), and I was scott free. I went and found the Blizzards, buying lower receivers for their AR’s, then we walked around for a while more looking at holsters and such. I finally found a guy who was selling some good holsters, and opened my case to see what size I would need… Lo and behold… It came with holsters. Awesome.
So then on to get another mag. We weren’t quite so lucky with that endeavor. Clint was going to get me one for my birthday, but they didn’t have the size we needed… which we only found out after he bought it. Luckily the lady was very kind and wound up returning it for us. Ah well, can’t have everything.
Then we looked at a shoulder holster for Kyle, saw they were way too expensive, and then booked it outta there.
And that’s just half of my day. I’ll tell you the rest after church. Oh, and here’s a picture for you.

My new baby...
